Stella Cadente Olive Oil was founded in 1999 by Sue Ellery and Tom Hunter. Our olives are grown pesticide-free and hand picked at Shooting Star Ranch located in the Anderson Valley of Mendocino County, California. The many shooting stars during the summer months in Anderson Valley inspired us to name our olive oil Stella Cadente. Stella Cadente means "shooting star" in Italian. Our love of good Italian olive oil and our beautiful starry nights gave our extra virgin olive oil its honorary Italian name!

Our L'Autunno Extra Virgin and Olio Nuovo Early Harvest Mission Olive Oils are harvested from an aromatic blend of Frantoio, Leccino, Pendolino, Coratina and Mission olives. The resulting oil is very lively, with a good texture and pleasingly bitter and spicy notes. Our Meyer Lemon Olive Oil is created by crushing the sweetest Meyer lemons with late harvest olives in early February. The result ~ an amazingly fragrant lemon oil. Our Blood Orange Olive Oil is a wonderful accompaniment with beets, duck & arugula salads... even for baking cakes. We crush the olives and the Blood oranges together to produce this aromatic oil. Gold medal winner at the L.A. County Fair
